Alison and I just returned from the city of Cognac where we took a guided tour of the Martell Distillery.
We had a great time, and the tour was really interesting. Much like a Bourbon Distillery in Kentucky. But just a few years older.
Martell is the oldest of the large Cognac Houses, having been founded in 1715.
It was cool walking the halls of buildings that have stood for so long. And the way they had integrated geeky-cool technology into the presentations during the tour was fascinating. And the aroma! Have I mentioned the aroma? No? Well let me tell ya. Wow!
And then there was the tasting at the end of the tour. Yum.
We both took lots of pictures with the D70. We'll post the best ones soon.

So what did it smell like? Other than wow. Was it earthy? Perfumey? Now I am very curious...

Good thing it's you that went.
If I did that tour I woulda asked the guide, "Dontcha use a Ford radiator for the final batch?"
And where would leave Franco-American relations?
