I just got home from the orthopedist's office. My foot is broken. A ligament attachment strained Friday morning and caused an avulsion fracture. It pulled a piece of bone off of the process to which it was attached.
I guess I should consider myself lucky the ligament didn't tear.
Click the link to see the result.
In honor of the University of Kentucky Women's Basketball team, I had them place a blue cast (as suggested by Mike).
I will have to wear the cast for 6 weeks. Luckily, it is a walking cast. I won't have to learn to use crutches. But I won't be driving, either. But I live within walking distance of anything I might need.
Now I need to figure out how to get my jeans off without destroying them.

That might be easier said than done.
I'm glad you got a walking cast. Crutches are just awful.

The report of your foot encasement saddens me greatly (as it does your jeans, I'm sure, considering their imminent destruction). At least you scored a lovely blue cast! Take care of yourself, Allan. :^)

I knew it! I had a blue one, also, and the same cast shoe!
In order not to destroy your jeans I recommend wide cuff sweat pants.

What a pretty blue cast; I love blue. Sorry about the snafu and the annoyance of it all. Sometimes life just doesn't go according to plan--merde!

Poor baby :( (sorry about what's to come, but I can't resist)
You must be a poet.
Your toes know it.
They're longfellows.

Allan, couldn't you have dressed those up a lil! I mean, maybe we should have an "ugly/purty toe photo forum! Were you in a car wreck? ;]

Blue jeans? Forget about it, man. You're stuck with either shorts, sweat pants or maybe if you're lucky, some baggy cargos or cords.
Wait a minute.. Why worry about wearing pants anyway? Streak!

While living in Aspen Colorado in the 80's, I also had a broken foot and about the time I was to have the cast removed, I asked my doctor if "I could ski now" to which he answered "I don't know, I've never seen you ski". (I'm sure he had delivered that "line" many other times.)

Wow, that's gotta smart! Hope it's not as bad as it looks and recovers ahead of time...
