This antique bathtub used to reside in the bathroom of the little house that Ali's father owns. The house we visited and worked on recently. It now resides, discarded, beneath the deck on the back of the house.
It has been replaced by a modern shower stall for the convenience of her dad and his wife, who are getting on in years.
It was really tough for Ali and her siblings to see the tub lying abandoned under the deck. It is all they have ever known. It had always been in that bathroom. They had taken many baths in it during their lives.
They understand the need to modernize some things , but I sense that they feel a loss of innocence there. The innocence of their childhood..

I would hate it too. My memories of childhood are precious. It's hard when everything changes.

I love claw foot bathtubs!
They're valueable.
Has anyone thought of refinishing it and taking it home?

I am not sure I told you that my mother acquired it from somewhere. When my parents bought the place that tub wasn't there. That's part of the reason it's especially hard for us to see it lying there under the deck.
*sigh*
